How to share a network adapter in windows or how to make a switch or router from a computer.

Hello, sometimes you need to share network card on a computer running windows. This might be necessary for example if you have a cheap 100 MByte router, and on the computer there are 2 network gigabit interfaces, and you need to connect the device at gigabit speed. Or if you do not want to buy a router. Below it will be shown how to do this.

Option one - you can make a bridge, then your computer will work as a switch.

By this method, for example, you can share internet from yota 3g modem.

This is done in just two clicks - go into network connections, select both our network adapters, right-click and select the bridge configuration. Another network interface will be created, which will be a bridge. Thats all you can connect the wire to the second interface, and if you have a DHCP configured on your router, the address will be automatically sent to the device.

The second option is to share the network interface, then your computer will work as a router.

To do this you need to go into the properties of the interface that looks at the internal network and prescribe the network settings. Just need to make sure that in the tab access option is not checked.

Next, go to the properties of the network interface that looks at the external network, go to the access tab, and allow access.

In Windows, by the way, there is a feature - if you enter the address 192.168.133.1 with the mask 255.255.255.0 then our computer will work as a DHCP server, and you do not have to enter the network settings on other devices manually.

That's all, now your computer will work as a router, the internal network will be behind NAT. You can connect devices to the interface.
